Atramentum I (2024)
Atramentum is a series that explores the deep connection between the body, tattooing, and ink. A symbol of permanence and transmission, the atramentum – black ink – becomes an essential medium here, not only to mark the skin but also to anchor the photograph in a tangible and material dimension. Like a tattoo inscribed on the body, the ink and the image capture a moment of absolute intimacy with our universe.
Each piece is accompanied by a book of performative documentation, reflecting an immersive process where the artist herself practiced the art of tattooing. By experimenting with the texture of the skin, the fluidity of the ink, and the gesture etched into the flesh, she reclaimed this ancient language to reveal its depth and intimate resonance.
Please note that tones and saturations may vary depending on computer screens and photographs of the artworks. The true colors can be experienced in person at the exhibition.
